Details of 20 minute Discovery Session
In this initial session participants will be given a brief introduction to a new model for blended learning based in part upon the Harkness Table, followed by a demonstration involving them and a member who will Beam in using a Beam robot.
Details of DEEP Dive 50 minutes, Challenges
In the initial Discovery Session participants will have conducted a sample Harkness Table session that extends beyond the physical room. In the Deep Dive, participants will explore the other facets of the new model A-JIS is developing, including in-person conference/seminar considerations, and then take part in a robust discussion to identify pitfalls and to generate a sample blended unit that could be used by a wide range of schools.

Paul has been a secondary educator since 1991, has worked in the US and Japan in public and private schools, and has been a tech leader in schools for the past fifteen years. He's run workshops at conferences such as Learning 2.0xx, and is active in tech circles in Asia. Currently with Aoba-Japan International School, Paul is in charge of developing a new model of blended learning with the aim of reaching schools throughout rural Japan.
